Cancellation, Refund & Bad Weather Policy

1. Bad Weather Arrangements

To ensure the safety of our students, faculty, and staff, Acumen Dental Academy adheres to the following class arrangements in the event of severe weather conditions in accordance with official announcements from the Hong Kong Observatory and the Hong Kong Government:

Class Cancellation Policy

Classes will be cancelled or postponed under the following circumstances:

Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 8 or above is hoisted;
Announcement by the Hong Kong Observatory that Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 8 will be issued within two hours;
Extreme Conditions after super typhoons, as officially announced by the Hong Kong Government;
Black Rainstorm Warning Signal is in force.

Arrangement for Cancelled Classes

If a class is cancelled due to the above weather conditions, students will be notified via email and/or WhatsApp.
The academy will make arrangements for a make-up class at a later date. If rescheduling is not feasible, a full refund or credit will be offered to affected participants.
Classes will resume as scheduled two hours after the warning signal has been lowered or cancelled, provided conditions are safe.

2. Class Cancellation & Refund Policy (Student-Initiated)

Students who wish to cancel their enrollment in a class for personal reasons may do so in accordance with the following refund schedule:

Notice Period Before Class Start Refund Amount

48 hours or more 100% refund
36 to 47 hours 50% refund
Less than 36 hours No refund

Important Notes:

All cancellation requests must be made in writing via email or official communication channels.
Refunds will be processed within 14 business days

In the case of extenuating circumstances (e.g., medical emergencies), students may submit a formal request for special consideration, accompanied by supporting documentation.

3. Detailed Arrangements for Classes and Examinations During Adverse Weather

For Classes Not Started YET

Situation Class and Examination Arrangements

If any of the warnings or announcements are hoisted or in force at or after 6:00 am: All classes commencing before 9:00 am will be cancelled automatically.

If any of the warnings or announcements is hoisted or in force at or after 2:00 pm:
- All classes commencing from 2:00 pm onward will be cancelled automatically.

For Classes Already Started

Situation Class and Examination Arrangements

When Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 8 or above is hoisted, or the No. 8 Signal will be issued within two hours as announced by the Hong Kong Observatory, or “extreme conditions” are in force: All classes will be suspended immediately.

When Black Rainstorm Signal is hoisted:
- All classes will continue until further notice.
