About the event

In this introductory lecture, Dr. Sandra Hulac presents the foundational principles of systematic examination, data collection, and risk-based treatment planning as taught by Dr. John Kois at the renowned Kois Center in Seattle. Many dental interventions unintentionally increase long-term risk for patients—this session challenges that paradigm and encourages a shift in clinical mindset. Through the use of a real patient case, participants will explore a comprehensive approach to documentation and diagnosis that supports predictable, evidence-based treatment outcomes.

Learning Objectives:

• Understand the essential documentation required for effective treatment planning (radiographs, photographs, diagnostic data).

• Learn a structured, systematic examination protocol.

• Gain insight into developing step-by-step treatment plans that reduce patient risk and improve long-term outcomes.

This lecture is suitable for all dentists, including new graduates and final year dental students.
